[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

My roommates and I were all pretty different from each other in a lot of respects.

With assorted classes, jobs, and extracurriculars, we kept very different schedules.  Very rarely did we seem to end up all awake in the apartment at the same time.  When we did, though, we played Super Smash Bros.

None of us really played any other video games.  We didn’t have much of an interest in them.  But a sophomore year hobby turned into regular competition which turned into friendship ritual.  This was serious, spreadsheets and all.

Our lives could get pretty stressful, and this was a beautiful release for all of us.  Some of my favorite memories from college center around that N64 (which was beautifully adorned with Martin’s freshman year of high school photo).

All of our ugly sides came out, for sure:

Justin would betray you.

Max would fight almost exclusively for revenge.

Martin would be the biggest jerk imaginable, salt in the wound.

I was not above bribery.

Still, no matter how heated these games got, we all were just pretty happy to spend a little bit of time together in the same place.

Even though I was fucking robbed two years in a row.

Sam added a column for herself.  Also pretty accurate.

Also, “Brady, it’s your mom. Suck dick.”
